Since 1992 HBO has had at least one show in either category. “The Larry Sanders Show” launched its lucky streak in 1993, remaining in the comedy lineup till 1998. The next year “The Sopranos” dawned on the drama side, then many other HBO programs followed in both genres: “Sex and the City,” “Deadwood,” “Six Feet Under,” “,” “Entourage.
” “Curb” and “Entourage” are eligible to be back this year, but judge No. 1 says that’s not a gimme. “OK, to narrow the top 10 into 5 is tricky, not as clear cut as the dramas,” he says. Having a rough day? Well, look on the bright side: At least you didn’t find out that your new wife or husband is your twin, thus making your romance about as incestuous as is incestuously possible. Say that three times fast. I know that’s ridiculous, but it also happens to be horrifyingly based on fact. Yes, two newlyweds in Britain recently discovered that they were fraternal twins separated by adoption.
A person who only knew of their past decided that each one deserved to know about the other’s existence. When he went to contact the first, he found out he only needed to make one trip to tell them both. Talk about awful. What makes this more than shallow sensationalism is that the phenomenon is not unique. The tale of the lovers’ woe and the annulment of their marriage was told by Lord David Alton in a session of England’s House of Lords - roughly equivalent to our House of Representatives.

Users are invited to post advice on dealing with neighbors who fight and yell, who let their animals defecate on other people’s property, who neglect their septic tanks — even those who cook foul-smelling food. The site shows how neighborhoods are changing, said Polak, a figure skating instructor who visits RottenNeighbor.com occasionally. “Most people don’t go knocking on the doors of future neighborhoods like they used to,” she said.
“We always knew who was moving in and how many kids they had, all that stuff. People were a little more outgoing. Now they just don’t seem to care.

Joining Scalia were Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy and Clarence Thomas. The other dissenters were Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and David Souter. Gun rights supporters hailed the decision.
“I consider this the opening salvo in a step-by-step process of providing relief for law-abiding Americans everywhere that have been deprived of this freedom,” said Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of the National Rifle Association. The NRA will file lawsuits in San Francisco, Chicago and several of its suburbs challenging handgun restrictions there based on Thursday’s outcome. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., a leading gun control advocate in Congress, criticized the ruling.

When business schools study the real world to find out what companies do that works and what doesn’t, why do they never seem to pick up on the really interesting stuff? Considering that Google Inc. is so fabulously successful that it can suggest better ways to run a country (see above), Vasanth Sridharan, writing in the Silicon Alley Insider , found a few job openings at Google that suggest the kind of leadership culture the company stands for. Among jobs for people who don’t have an MBA degree or can’t write code, are: executive chefs; a massage therapist, a manager for the Infant Toddler Program and Children’s Centre Teacher, and an animal health expert.
When was the last time you worked at a company that had hired such people? Sega, not to be outdone by any other Japanese company vying to create a more human-like robot, has introduced the E.M.A., and its, um, friendliness has frightened Engadget.

Exactly how does a tomahawk chopping cow add to the fan’s experience at Turner Field? This is just another reason why Turner Field is such a joke and proves Braves fans are not true baseball fans. So Atlanta morons go to Turner Field to see a cow and a coke bottle? I have an idea, how about going for the game! Add in the idiotic sound effects and the Braves experience is obnoxious. It’s the MAJOR LEAGUES not the minor leagues, act like it. What’s next, a cow milking contest between Francoeuer and McCann? This further proves Atlanta is not a sports town!
